I had never watched The Tour de France before 2020. However, my friend David Singer encouraged me to tune in and pick a team/rider to follow. I was definitely sports-starved during the Covid-19 lockdown, so I happily obliged and supported Education First Pro Cycling — great logo, riders, kits, they’re based in the United States, and have an inspiring team philosophy.

The Tour captivated me so much that I ended up making and updating my own map for multiple different races as I kept wanting more quasi-related data while following along. “What climb is that? How steep is it!?” This project has also allowed me to test some in-progress typefaces that I have made over the years on other races. I hope you enjoy!
